Fan Culture is a Docu-Comedy/ Reality TV series that follows me around the world as I learn about different sections of ultra fans in a variety of sports including football (soccer), rugby, cricket, American football, Hockey, etc. It is based on a documentary I am currently finishing up for broadcast this October, where I followed a group of fans to Boston to catch the Milan Derby. There are a lot of crazy fans out there… gotta love ‘em.

The Munja Cake is a Docu-Comedy/Reality TV series about second generation Canadians unable to meet the cultural expectations of their families. The Munja Cake follows young people of Italian, Latino, Greek, Indian and Korean descent – trying to fulfill cultural obligations set by families and their communities.

Late For Stuff is a short comedic film in development about a young woman, who after being very late for her own wedding, decides she needs to get a handle on her chronic lateness. Upon seeing a life coach, her habits, concept of time and outlook on life are put into serious question.

A Visit From My Bro is a short light hearted drama done in documentary style. It will mix components of my life with the fictional premise of receiving a visit from my brother (who passed away 9 years ago). It’s based on a dream I had recently.

Feature Film Idea in Development

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

Dance-A-Thon 1981 is a feature film I’m developing to be my first feature length film. It’s about a couple who compete for a $50 thousand cash prize as they also deal with their heated breakup. It’s going to be fun and sexy. My creative influences for this include breakups, Italo Disco, 80’s dance movies and Jane Fonda.

Still working on the first draft – stay tuned…

New Idea From The Can…

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

I’ve been thinking about creating  a show where I candidly talk about sports with other women that guys & girlies alike will both enjoy…

So, I’ve let the idea marinate a bit and this is what I’m thinking – A half hour show where I deliberate about the sporting news of the week, uncensored. I review sports news around the globe in a seemingly regular newscast format each week in a half hour program where everything is up for grabs: who’s signing with whom, sleeping with whom, backstabbing whom, who’s addicted to this or that, who wants more money, locker room scandals and more…

Think of The View’s segment “Hot Topics” meets The Grill Room, meets Perez Hilton meets Daily Show (cuz everything should meet The Daily Show y’know). Sports News with a comedic twist complete with the screen of news images by my head. Since I LOVE soccer (or football depending on your tastes) we’d discuss news about that and hockey, football, basketball…golf (I’ll learn to like it I swear), etc.

I’d have revolving and returning guests each week: athletes, sports journalists, entertainers, super fans  and of course other women who know sports to debate and gossip with. The idea is to show the female perspective on sports which I don’t think is represented fully.  Don’t worry guys can get in on it too (one a week). Maybe I’ll call it Chicks Talking Sports – hate it? Like it? If you give me a great title, I’ll love you forever and pay you a twoonie (it’s Canadian TV, not Hollywood people).

Sounds good? Whaddya think??

I love posting random shots, so here’s one of me and my bud Ben at last month’s TFC game versus Dallas. I was interviewing fans for a CBC segment I do called “Footy Fan Poll” when Ben ‘just strolled’ by ;-)

PS. Forgive the hair-a-mess, it was a windy day mang!
