Hi, my name is Gina Bucci and I only write about myself in the FIRST person.
I'm a director, writer, producer and reporter based in Toronto and I appear on Telelatino Network (TLN) as a host, reporter and writer on a weekly basis. I recently graduated from the Director's Lab at The Canadian Film Centre (CFC) as well. Currently I am celebrating my fifth year in TV and I am developing a couple of short films and my first feature comedy under my production company, Boochie Productions. Phew, I need a vacation STAT!
So, take a look around and enjoy some of the short films and on camera stuff I’ve made recently. I am still assembling more footage from over the years to put up, so please check back when you can…
I went down to the CBC studios on Friday and had a little chat with Connect’s Host, Mark Kelley. He’s a bigger hockey fan than a soccer nut but fun to talk to nonetheless. Haha, that sounds so elitist of me. Yay! I’m a soccer snob.
Ok, you can read a official game recap anywhere. I’m going to talk about my experience on this wonderful day instead. I’m also not technically a Real Madrid fan but I can safely say Real Madrid does have several players I am a huge fan of like Kaka, Arjen Robben, Raul and Iker Casillas. I also really enjoy Sergio Ramos, Guti, Diarra, Royston Drenthe and Wesley Sneijder – yes, the L’Orange are my second favourite team to root for on an international level. (*van der Vaart & van Nistelrooy, who I also adore didn’t feature in the TFC game)
On August 6th Real Madrid held an open practice for the fans in Toronto at a mere 15 bucks per ticket!
Although it was pretty much just a stretching affair with a brief scrimmage between the team, I think it was a wonderful idea. This was an excellent chance for kids & aspiring soccer players to get a chance to see the best of the best practice their craft. The next night’s crowd would certainly be more corporate (and it was). * HEY LEAFS, TAKE NOTICE!
Fan Culture is a Docu-Comedy/ Reality TV series that follows me around the world as I learn about different sections of ultra fans in a variety of sports including football (soccer), rugby, cricket, American football, Hockey, etc. It is based on a documentary I am currently finishing up for broadcast this October, where I followed a group of fans to Boston to catch the Milan Derby. There are a lot of crazy fans out there… gotta love ‘em.
